Landslide in Wayanad: केरल के वायनाड जिले में मेप्पडी के पास भारी बारिश के की वजह से पहाड़ी इलाकों में मंगलवार 30 जुलाई की सुबह भूस्खलन हुआ। अधिकारियों ने सैकड़ों लोगों के भूस्खलन के मलबे में दबे होने की आशंका जताई है। इस हादसे में अब तक 63 की मौत और 116 से ज्यादा लोगों के घायल होने की सूचना है. प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने इस घटना पर दुख जताया है.

केरल के मुख्यमंत्री पिनाराई विजयन ने कहा कि सभी सरकारी एजेंसियां वायनाड जिले में भूस्खलन के संबंध में बचाव अभियान में शामिल हो गई हैं। केरल राज्य आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण (केएसडीएमए) ने कहा है कि फायरफोर्स और राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रतिक्रिया बल की टीमों को प्रभावित क्षेत्र में तैनात किया गया है, साथ ही एनडीआरएफ की एक अतिरिक्त टीम वायनाड के रास्ते में है।

केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने ट्वीट किया, “केरल के वायनाड में भूस्खलन की घटनाओं से बहुत चिंतित हूं। एनडीआरएफ युद्ध स्तर पर खोज और बचाव अभियान चला रहा है…मृतकों के परिवारों के प्रति मेरी संवेदनाएं और घायलों के शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने की प्रार्थना करता हूं।”
